Job Summary
The City of Mississauga is expanding its ServiceNow footprint and requires a ServiceNow Developer who can provide leadership in digital workflow design and implementation. As part of a digital workflow team, the ServiceNow Developer will work on a variety of ServiceNow implementation projects. A significant portion of the job includes providing technical support and completing developments/enhancements to the ServiceNow platform based on industry best practices. A high level of motivation, professionalism, and the ability to work with various IT groups and client-facing teams are essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Manager, Digital Workflows, the successful candidate will:
- Implement new ServiceNow modules and applications
- Complete configurations, customizations and enhancements to ServiceNow platform and applications (tables, lists, forms, flows, catalogs, menus, business rules, UI components, script includes, APIs, transform maps, etc.)
- Analyze and translate business needs into technical requirements to design and develop custom applications on the ServiceNow platform
- Prepare various types of documentation including functional designs, technical specifications, stories, test scripts, operational documentation, knowledge articles, etc.
- Perform quality assurance (QA) testing and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Configure integrations between ServiceNow and other systems to enable seamless communication and data exchange using API’s and data load tools.
- Plan, test and implement annual ServiceNow platform version upgrades and related patches
- Maintain implemented modules including access and permissions to maintain the ServiceNow licensing compliance
- Conduct troubleshooting to identify cause of technical issues, respond to and resolve incidents and requests submitted
- Build, maintain and enhance reports, dashboards, and other data exports in ServiceNow and MS Power BI to improve operational visibility and enhance a decision-making process
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum 5 years of recent and relevant application development, implementation, and support experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in implementing, configuring, enhancing and maintaining the ServiceNow platform and modules such as ITSM, ITAM. Experience in designing and maintaining ServiceNow Service Portals.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in creating, maintaining, and enhancing integrations between ServiceNow and other systems by using ServiceNow REST API, SOAP, Integration Hub, workflows etc.
- Demonstrated experience working with JavaScript, JSON, XML and associated frameworks (JQuery, Angular JS). Familiarity with UI, SQL, HTML and CSS
- Demonstrated experience with integrating ServiceNow with other platforms, such as SCCM and Intune
- Certified ServiceNow System Administrator and/or Certified ServiceNow Application Developer
- Proven experience in ServiceNow workflows with ability to design, build and deploy Service Request workflows and Service Catalog items
- Experience with creating reports and dashboards including scheduled reports within the ServiceNow platform
- Experience with creating and maintaining documentation, which includes user guides, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation and work instructions
- Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
- Strong commitment to high quality service, strong initiative, and the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
The following areas and experiences are considered as strong preferences or assets:
- Familiar with ServiceNow WSD, SPM, ITAM, APM and ServiceNow Assist
- Advanced knowledge and experience working in the Agile development methodology
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist
- ITIL foundation certificate
- Customer Relationship Management solutions
Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 86,858.00 - $ 115,812.00
