Senior Lead, HR Service Hub

Job Summary

The City of Mississauga Human Resources Division is looking for a Senior Lead, HR Service Hub to be the go-to person to the HR Service Hub team, provide functional guidance to the HR Assistants and conduct complex reporting and analytics on HR data. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, great leadership skills and has a passion for process improvements.

Due to Covid-19, most of our offices are currently closed to protect the health and safety of our employees, clients and community. As such, this position will be required to work remotely for an undetermined period. Once our offices re-open you will report to 300 City Centre Drive, Mississauga.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to HR Service Hub as the Subject Matter Expert on various business processes, policies, practices, collective agreements and legislation.
  • Act as Team Lead for Tier 1 inquiries for the HR Assistants.
  • Respond to escalated situations by the HR Assistants and HR Analysts using knowledge of legislation, SAP and other City systems. Topics include, but are not limited to position management, leave of absence and collective agreement application.
  • Oversee the HR Service Hub Knowledge Base to ensure resources and Standard Operating Procedures are comprehensive, efficient and easy to use.
  • Investigate, test and recommend solutions to resolve SAP business process issues including modelling and understanding the impact of making changes to HR Master Data to mitigate risk to the City and the Employees.
  • Conduct complex business reporting, analysis and provide recommendations from SAP on various topics.
  • Partner with IT and/or HR Management Systems as HR Business lead on SAP solutions to identify gaps, determine business requirements and implement solution.
  • Provide guidance to Human Resources on a wide range of business processes and policies.
  • Develop HR forecasts and analytical models; perform "trend" and "what if" analyses in support of management decision making. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary graduation in Business Administration, Human Resources (HR) Management or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive experience working in HR analytics, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Experience in providing functional leadership to a team
  • Must possess advanced experience with SAP or other similar HR management systems, including the use of ad hoc report writing tools such as Crystal Reports.  
  • Ability to work in fast paced envrionment with high level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in technology based projects are required.
  • Must possess an in-depth understanding of HR processes, practices and legislation; the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff, along with problem solving, project management and excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft desktop applications with advanced proficiency in Excel. 
  • Experience with SharePoint and Business Intelligence (BI) tools is an asset.
