Job Summary
Reporting to the Marketing Supervisor, the Sales & Event Marketing Coordinator supports the delivery of Visit Mississauga’s sales and marketing initiatives through event execution, client servicing, and campaign coordination. This role plays a vital part in connecting Visit Mississauga’s marketing and sales efforts, ensuring that sponsorships, activations, and promotional opportunities are delivered seamlessly and on brand. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about promoting Mississauga as a vibrant visitor destination.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Marketing team with the execution of digital and traditional media campaigns, including asset collection and performance tracking.
- Assist with digital asset management—organizing, updating, and maintaining brand and campaign materials, photos, and videos.
- Coordinate and execute event marketing and sponsorship deliverables in collaboration with the Marketing Consultants and Sales team.
- Create and update marketing materials, presentations, proposals, and promotional kits.
- Support the planning and execution of events, including tourism activations, festivals, media / influencer events, tradeshows, and conferences.
- Manage logistics for marketing activations, including signage, promotional materials, and on-site setup.
- Liaise with internal departments, external clients, and event partners to ensure all Visit Mississauga deliverables are met
- Set up on-site activations, deliver signage, promotional materials, and swag, and ensure proper brand representation.
- Maintain accurate and current records in project management systems, including project updates, marketing meeting notes.
- Track campaign performance and compile post-event or post-campaign reports.
- Provide administrative support for the marketing team, including partner communications, invoice processing, and budget documentation.
- Monitor promotional inventory and coordinate restocking with vendors as needed.
- Maintain positive relationships with tourism partners, agencies, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in marketing coordination, sales support, or event marketing, preferably within tourism, hospitality, or destination marketing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic project management tools
(ex. Sharepoint, Monday.com) - Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Basic understanding of digital marketing channels, including social media, display, and email campaigns.
- Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize an attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task diverse challenges with a solution-oriented mindset; flexibility is key
- Enthusiastic, proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrates good judgment in a fast-paced environment, leading up to and during events
- Comfortable taking direction from multiple team members
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle in order to be able to deliver promotional materials, signage and swag to events across the City
Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 62,228.00 - $ 82,974.00
