Job Summary
Reporting to the Project Manager, IT TXM Services the successful candidate is accountable for the estimating, planning, executing, and managing all aspects of software testing and quality assurance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and execute comprehensive test strategies and plans, test data, test cases and test scripts
- Setup, maintain and use testing tools for defect tracking and to facilitate the Quality Assurance process through automation of test scripts where applicable
- Work closely with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and functional specifications
- Work closely with the IT Application Delivery Team during all phases of the SDLC and ongoing support and provide input for continuous process improvements
- Establish and maintain traceability matrix to ensure all business requirements are successfully tested
- Assist users during user acceptance testing, provide training, clarifications, test data, and documents (where required)
- Monitor and track quality related issues and problems through resolutions.
- Provide Quality Assurance to Helpdesk tickets
- Initiate, facilitate and manage testing related meetings
- Identifies defects and recommends appropriate course of action
- Provide work estimates for testing activities to the Project Manager
- Track and capture metrics for reporting test progress
- Define testing standards and processes
- Provide day-to-day service excellence to clients and project teams
- Support and team members
- Other related duties as assigned
- Commitment to service excellence and total quality is essential
Skills and Qualifications
- Post Secondary education in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field
- Minimum three years of IT testing experience with Quality Assurance testing methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience defining & implementing testing standards and processes
- Demonstrated experience working in Waterfall and Agile methodologies
- Experience with SQL and Oracle
- Thorough understanding of Quality Assurance processes and hands on experience with automated testing tools
- Critical thinking skills and attention to detail within tight timelines
- Experience providing troubleshooting in a help desk environment
- Demonstrated experience in understanding business requirements and functional specifications to develop and execute test plans
- Demonstrated test data creation and analysis skills
- Demonstrated experience in tracking & capturing metrics for reporting test progress
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills
- Proven track record for building strong working relationships
- A demonstrated team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- CSTE or ISTBQ Certification is an asset
Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 89,464.00 - $ 119,286.00
