Job Summary

POSITION IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING A JOB EVALUATION REVIEW.

This position involves the meticulous recording and depositing of all revenue received by Parking Enforcement, including the preparation of financial reports. Additionally, the role encompasses system administration responsibilities, where the Administrator, Parking will be responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and safeguarding the City's ticketing system to ensure it functions effectively in processing revenue.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Manager, Office Services, you will bring added value to the Parking Administration section by:

  • Utilize daily knowledge and skills across diverse business practices and settings, including the preparation of cheque requisitions, coordination of invoice payments, fees, charges, and customer payments.
  • Act as a System Administrator with responsibilities for managing the system database, involving system monitoring and collaborative efforts with Finance and IT. This role encompasses data analysis, enhancement requests, resolution of discrepancies, and addressing service-related issues.
  • Serve as the primary contact within the department for addressing public payment disputes, which may involve in-depth research and varying levels of complexity. This requires strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, particularly concerning Infor Service Requests.
  • Provide written information and reports regarding the status of tickets and revenue to the Finance department, offering monthly forecasts, accruals, and reconciliation for various payments and account management.
  • Generate and analyze a range of internal and external financial reports to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Collaborate and maintain effective communication with various internal stakeholders and external entities, such as IT, Finance, the Federal Government, Ministry of Transportation, etc., to ensure accurate reporting and the timely processing of ticket payments.
  • Responsible for payroll entry.   
  • Undertake other administrative duties as needed to support the Office Services section.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A post-secondary degree in Finance or Business Administration or Post-Secondary education with relevant work experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in revenue accounting and accounts management, coupled with strong mathematical and analytical skills, is essential, preferably within a municipal setting.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including a working knowledge of SAP, SharePoint, MS Office, and preferably Infor, Ministry of Transportation ARIS, and online public payment applications.
  • Familiarity with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Ontario Regulation 333/07, and Administrative Penalties is considered an asset.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, demonstrated through patience, sound judgement, and effective verbal communication to clarify issues, payment options, and processes with the public.
  • A keen eye for detail when analyzing and preparing reports, with a commitment to ensuring the integrity of information and statistical data for auditing and planning purposes.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with the IT department, whether it's testing enhancements, gathering data, or solving problems.
  • Adaptability and the capability to excel in an environment where accuracy, multitasking, and managing conflicting priorities are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a confidential capacity, ensuring data control and compliance with records management processes and protocols at all times.
  • Strong client-focused service skills when interacting with city departments, the Mayor and Members of Council, the Federal Government, and external agencies.

Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 60,710.00 - $ 80,950.00
