Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and working closely with the Invest Mississauga Marketing Team, the Marketing Consultant provides leadership and hands‑on support in digital marketing, communications, design, and brand development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Marketing
• Lead IDEA Mississauga’s annual marketing work plan.
• Develop marketing briefs, project plans, and campaign assets.
• Improve workflows and communication processes.
Content & Communications
• Write and edit content for newsletters, websites, social media, and promotional materials.
• Present complex information in accessible language.
• Ensure communications meet brand and accessibility standards.
Digital Strategy, Design & Execution
• Lead digital marketing strategy and multi‑channel campaigns.
• Create digital assets including graphics, visuals, and multimedia.
• Manage paid digital media across social, search, display, and video.
• Schedule and publish digital content across web, social, and newsletters.
• Produce and design the IDEA Monthly Newsletter.
Event Support
• Attend events and provide on‑site marketing support.
• Capture photography and short‑form video.
• Manage real‑time social media during events.
• Support event logistics and execution.
Performance, Insights & Data
• Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks.
• Monitor and optimize paid media.
• Support analytics reporting.
• Conduct research and audience analysis.
Financial & Administrative
• Track budgets, reconcile expenses, and assist with forecasting.
• Support cross‑departmental initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with City policies.
Skills and Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Post‑secondary education in marketing, communications, digital media, business, or related field.
• 3–5 years in marketing, communications, or project management.
• Experience in digital media buying and content development.
• Photography/videography experience.
Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of digital channels.
• Knowledge of analytics and performance metrics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and marketing software, content creation, editing, content management, automation platforms, and surveys
• Familiarity with major social media platforms.

• Excellent writing and storytelling skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong collaboration and project management skills.
• Analytical and organizational abilities.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $78,602 (43.19/hr) - $104, 806($57.59/hr)
Expected Hiring Range: $43.19 – $50.39
The expected hiring range reflects the anticipated starting rate for this position, based on the skills and experience required.
Work Location: IDEA Square One, 100 City Centre Drive
Hours of Work: 35 Hours-Hybrid with 3 days in office per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with occasional evenings and weekends
