IT Project Manager, Corporate Asset Management

Job Summary

Work with a dynamic team to manage the IT components of the Finance Corporate Asset Management program.  

 

Due to Covid-19, most of our offices are currently closed to protect the health and safety of our employees, clients and community. As such, this position will be required to work remotely for an undetermined period. Once our offices re-open, an alternative work arrangement may be applied.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum 5 years project management and a minimum of 3 years business analysis experience in delivering IT enterprise solutions to clients.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing financial decision support solutions for corporate asset reporting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with system integration and decision support/reporting technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, developing work packages and co-ordinating work for IT technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with collaborating with business staff and all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with outstanding project management,  analytical, implementation, organizational, communication (oral & written), and customer service skills.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI) is required.
  • Experience or knowledge of SAP S4 HANA, Mobile LiDAR, Infor, VFA, RoadMatrix, EMSI, Faster, CityWide would be an asset.
  • Familiar with Ontario Regulation 588/17: Asset Management Planning for Municipal Infrastructure would be an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Enterprise Business Solutions, the successful candidate will:

 

  • Act as a liason with the IT teams and the Finance Corporate Asset Management team to implement the IT components of the City’s Corporate Asset Management Plan
  • Gather and document financial reporting requirements for core and non-core assets from the Finance Corporate Asset Management team
  • Create work packages for IT teams based on financial reporting requirements
  • Monitor, co-ordinate and report status of IT projects to the Corporate Asset Management Sub-Committee
  • Lead the procurement process and implementation of a Corporate Asset Management Decision Support/Reporting System
  • Effectively lead status and other meetings, workshops and discovery sessions and effectively communicate to all levels of management
  • Effectively apply PMI Project Management methodologies (Stakeholder Management, Risk Management, Scope Management, Procurement Management, etc.) as required
  • Be responsible for adhering to project management standards for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing project, while ensure best practices (PMBOK) and City standards established by the PMSO for project management processes are managed
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
