Job Summary
This position is required to provide technical and functional expertise and leadership in areas of technology, processes, and operating procedures for SAP Payroll and Time Management. Act as a subject matter expert and lead related SAP Payroll projects. Responsible for planning, time schedules, quality assurance, risk assessment, communication, procurement/vendor management, business analysis and change management. Implement and fulfill approved projects that support the City’s Strategic Plan. The role operates in a hybrid work environment, with office presence required at Mississauga City Hall, 300 City Centre Drive, Mississauga.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Program Manager, SAP HCM/Payroll Business Support, the successful candidate will:
- Act as a liaison between technology teams and business units.
- Be the SAP techno-functional expert and lead for designing and implementing solutions in SAP Payroll Portfolio including required integrations within SAP portfolio and other third-party applications/systems.
- Lead, prioritize and follow up with issues to ensure resolution.
- Provide functional guidance, coach and mentor SAP HCM and Payroll Functional Specialists in the team.
- Lead, blueprint, and design solutions to plan for eventual migration and transition to SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) and Employee Central Payroll (ECP) to meet new and future business requirements.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to conduct business process analysis, demos/prototypes, testing, system cutover, documentation, and training of system functionality.
- Analyse and document current state and future state business processes including assessing impact on existing solutions.
- Transform user requirements to program specifications and communicate effectively with functional specialists, developers, and business users throughout the process.
- Identify system/business impacts for implementation of new functionality and SAP HR Support Packs including developing robust regression test plans.
- Provide third-level support for troubleshooting and responding to support incidents.
- Develop and implement change management strategies to enable corporate adoption of the new SAP solutions.
- Provide input on emerging technologies and participate in development of technology plan and SAP HCM roadmap for the City.
- Lead Work Requests, upgrade, and minor SAP Payroll projects.
- Contribute preliminary estimates of resource requirements and technology costs for development of business cases for major projects and work with stakeholders to build business cases.
- Maintain communication with user groups including leading user meetings to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Comply with all Information Technology service levels, change and version control, systems development methodology, standards, policies, audit, and financial controls.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in the field of Human Resources Management, Business or in a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing SAP Payroll and Time Management solutions.
- Certification in SAP Payroll / SuccessFactors Employee Central / SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll is required.
- Demonstrated experience in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central / Employee Central Payroll / Time Tracking including data conversion, testing and functional/technical integrations and configuring replication for Employee Central Payroll.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in configuring, analyzing, and supporting SAP Payroll and Time Management including configuring schema rules, system configurations for Collective Agreements (unions), DME,
- Payroll Taxation, Pension calculations, Time Recording, Time Evaluation and ESS-MSS/Fiori Apps.
- Extensive experience in mapping business processes and translating business requirements into design deliverables for implementing effective SAP Payroll solutions and advising impact on Payroll and Pension processes.
- Expertise in analysing, troubleshooting, and sustainment of SAP Payroll, Pension, and Time Management solutions including integrations with Finance and Third-Party vendors and providing third-level support and recommending process improvements.
- In depth knowledge of HR management and Payroll policies, procedures, and administrative functions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service and ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders and senior level management.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and capable of working independently and in a team environment.
Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 100,277.00 - $ 133,703.00
