Job Summary

Provides customer service at the Community Centre desk.  Process services and sales and provides administrative support to members of the facility team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides up to date information on Community Centre and City wide services and programs both over the phone and in person at the Community Centre desk, in a professional and friendly manner to all customers.
  • Contacts customers to inform of cancelled programs or classes
  • Registers customers into Recreation programs using the CLASS Program Registration module. 
  • Processes transfer and withdrawal requests for Recreation programs/memberships on CLASS Program Registration. 
  • Sells Recreation memberships to customers for swimming, skating, fitness and therapy using CLASS Program Registration/Passes. 
  • Collection of customer participation stats into Aquatic and Fitness programs using CLASS POS & CLASS Report Printing.
  • Sells customers pay-as-you-go admissions to public swim and skates, preschool, sports and fitness and therapy drop-in programs using CLASS POS.
  • Ensures maximums/capacity of programs is maintained through sales of tickets
  • Follow and adhere to all Divisional Cash Handling policies/procedures, including building-site specific procedures and inventory control. Responsible for the preparation of the end of shift/day Daily Sales Reports using CLASS>Report Printing. Prepares floats and cash for deposits.
  • Sells customers Presto, transit tickets/passes, dog licenses and renewals, garbage bag tags, and sundry items such as goggles, manuals using CLASS POS. 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
  • Emergency First Aid/CPR B certification is required
  • The successful candidate should poses good interpersonal and communication skills for working in a multi-tasking customer service environment.
  • Computer experience in Word, Excel and CLASS software, along with experiences in cash handling and balancing are deemed an asset
  • Primarily community centre environment

Hourly Rate/Salary: 18.22 - 21.70 
Hours of Work: up to 24
