Duties and Responsibilities
- The successful candidate must be able to carry out a variety of duties related to the operation of a snack bar with an emphasis on food preparation, customer service, cash handling and maintaining a sanitary snack bar area
- Responsible for cleaning, inventory, and stocking of product on an ongoing basis
- Responsible for all monies issued on a shift and for following proper Corporate Cash Handling procedures
- Assist with accepting deliveries, signing for product, passing along invoice to management
- Practice proper food safety standards and operation of food service equipment
- Practice proper handling of Workplace Hazardous Materials
- Record Spoilage, hazards, equipment failures, accidents, incidents, and hours worked
- Participate in ongoing building and City initiated training courses and staff meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Please note:
- Staff will be paid per hour as scheduled. Tips are not permitted at the snack bar. Staff must be familiar with City of Mississauga Cash Handling Procedure.
- All meetings and in-service training sessions are paid on an hourly basis at the City training hourly rate of pay.
- Responsible for working assigned shifts as scheduled or finding appropriate shift coverage.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 16 years old
- Must possess strong communication and customer service skills
- Preference will be given to those applicants with food and cash handling experience
- Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Must be able to handle a variety of responsibilities in a fast paced concessions environment
- Must hold recognized Food Handler’s Certificate (or willing to obtain prior to first shift)
- The successful candidate must possess a valid Emergency First Aid and CPR B (Lifesaving Society, Canadian Red Cross Society, St. John’s Ambulance or the Canadian Ski Patrol) certification (must be recognized by WSIB) within six months of your start date.
Hourly Rate/Salary: $18.21 - $21.71
Grade: PB
Hours of Work: up to 40 hours per week
