Job Summary
The Treasury Co‑op Student will support daily treasury operations, including merchant payment card activity, armoured courier workflows, and other banking-related processes. They will use Excel, VBA scripting, and Power Query to enhance tracking, reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis. The role also includes supporting automation improvements within the Treasury SharePoint Teamsite and organizing financial data for regular reporting cycles. The student will assist with researching and drafting business requirements for RFPs, as well as maintaining investment banking agreements and user manuals. This position is ideal for students with strong technical skills, advanced Excel experience, and an interest in treasury or financial analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Support Treasury Analyst in daily activities related to merchant payment card activity, armoured courier workflow processes and other Treasury related processes
- Through the use of Excel VBA scripting and Power Query usage, improve tracking and reporting of banking activity, payment card activity and their processes, including statistical forecasting and variance analysis
- Support the Treasury with automation and modification improvements to the Treasury Sharepoint Teamsite
- Organize and create financial data for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly reports
- Research and write business requirements for Request for Proposals (RFP’s)
- Maintain investment banking agreements and maintain user manuals for Treasury
- Performs other duties as required to deliver on City service values of Trust, Quality and Excellence
Skills and Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a program of study in Finance, Economics, Math, Computer Science at a recognized university in a co-op program
- 3rd or 4th Year Coop Undergraduate OR 1st or 2nd Year Coop Graduate Level
- This job requires in-depth use of Microsoft Excel and VBA scripting experience (or other coding like Python)
- Demonstrated experience working with complex Excel workbooks
- Experience or exposure to treasury financial analysis, banking financial analysis, payment card activity and/or financial analysis
- Exposure to writing business requirements or business studies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication with internal and external clients
Hourly Rate/Salary: 20.29 - 24.11

Work Location: Civic Centre - 300 City Centre Drive, Mississauga
Work Model: This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be onsite in the office 3 days per week and allowing remote work for the remaining days. Specific in-office days may be set by the team or department to support collaboration and business needs.
