Job Summary
The Treasury Co-op Student will support cashflow forecasting, investment portfolio reporting, and daily treasury operations. They will help improve automated processes using VBA and/or Python and assist with creating efficiencies through SharePoint. The role also includes supporting research and preparing business requirements for Treasury-related RFPs. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, experience with complex Excel workbooks, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Assist and support the cashflow forecasting process, as well as portfolio investment reporting & analysis
- Assist and support various existing daily and weekly operational services
- Using the Sharepoint application, investigate and implement time and cost saving techniques and services
- Through the use of VBA and/or Python programming, enhance and maintain various automated processes including investment reporting, banking, payments processes, cash flow forecasting, and statistical analysis
- Support research and creation of business requirements for Request for Proposals (RFP’s) related to various Treasury services which support banking, investment banking, and investment custody
- Performs other duties as required to deliver on City service values of Trust, Quality, and Excellence
Skills and Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a program of study in Finance, Economics, Math or Computer Science at a recognized university in a co-op program
- Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th year co-op undergraduate student, or a 1st or 2nd year co-op graduate student.
- Microsoft VBA coding experience, or other coding experience (i.e. Python) is required
- Demonstrated experience working with complex Excel workbooks
- Demonstrated experience in writing business requirements and/or studies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication with internal and external clients
Hourly Rate/Salary: 20.29 - 24.11

Work Location: Civic Centre - 300 City Centre Drive, Mississauga
Work Model: This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be onsite in the office 3 days per week and allowing remote work for the remaining days. Specific in-office days may be set by the team or department to support collaboration and business needs.
