Job Summary
The Works Operations and Maintenance (WOM) division is responsible for maintaining the City’s road and stormwater infrastructure, manages the road occupancy permit process, and the acquisition and maintenance of City vehicles and equipment. WOM is currently seeking a Co-Op student to provide support for business improvement projects.
Responsible to assist the Business Advisor in WOM with responsibilities that support efficient project execution. Support the organization and tracking of project details, prepare and manage project documentation, gather data, organize records, monitor schedules and follow up with project team members on deliverables.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible to assist Business Advisor with project coordination
- Assist in maintaining and updating project management tools and documentation
- Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and schedule meetings
- Prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and other project materials as directed
- Follow up on assigned tasks and deliverables with project team
- Tracking project progress
- Managing SharePoint site and administering access controls
- Organizing project inputs, information and documents
- Gathering and organizing data, developing record keeping documentation
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Applicants in their 3rd or 4th year of post-secondary education are preferred
- Demonstrated experience with project support and cross-functional teams
- Knowledge or understanding of municipal government is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational and follow-up skills are required
- Ability to work proactively and independently to address tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Position requires successful candidate to travel between various locations with the City. Access to a personal vehicle, preferred
Hourly Rate/Salary: 19.80 - 23.53
