Job Summary
The City of Mississauga is seeking a motivated individual who is looking to make a positive impact and will be responsible for assisting the Energy Management team with the day-to-day duties. The successful candidate will be part of a team of engaged, enthusiastic and dedicated people that are committed to collaborating with one another to deliver on our commitment to the residents, visitors and businesses of Mississauga
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Energy Management team, the successful candidate will be required to support the Energy Management and Facility Maintenance sections in various projects and initiatives. Responsibilities include:
- Assist with utilities management
- Assist with Energy Benchmarking and Re-commissioning
- Analyse data and provide support with reporting
- Assist with database management (data entry and validation)
- Collect and verify site equipment data for HVAC, lighting, water fixtures, refrigeration and other mechanical, electrical equipment/systems through site visits and documented information
- Assist in estimating energy consumption of new City facilities for financial utility budgets
- Assist in monitoring Building Automation Systems and live metering system for abnormalities in energy consumption
- Assist in configuring and managing the Energy Management Information Software (SkySpark)
- Assist in preparing grant applications for various incentive programs
- Assist with maintenance contracts management
- Assist with data analysis and Power BI reports creation
- Assist with maintenance of the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for building assets
- Assist with testing and troubleshooting
- Assist with Asset inventory
- Perform other duties as required
- Duties and responsibilities may vary according to the student's academic background and experience.
Skills and Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a program of study in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, Management Science, Environmental studies, Systems Design Engineering or related discipline at a recognized university in a co-op program;
- High level of enthusiasm as well as strong verbal and written communication skills are required;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with other teams;
- Proficiency in computer programing languages (e.g. VBA, Python, SQL,etc.) is preferred;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Experience with database management is an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize work;
- Solid proficiency in Excel, Word, and other MS Office programs is required; and,
- Exceptional customer service skills
- The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel to various locations as required, with responsibility for arranging their own transportation
Hourly Rate/Salary: 19.80 - 23.53
