Job Summary

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Transit Operations, the successful candidate will work with Maintenance and other Service Delivery staff to arrange service for buses in the garage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the interior and exterior cleaning of buses.
  • Organize buses by service plan.
  • Maintain parking sheets and communicate any changes to Transit Control team.
  • Ensure buses are parked in the proper bay when returning into storage area.
  • Report all safety infractions.
  • Relieves other Bus Allocators for vacation and sick relief.
  • Provide support to other teams by ensuring buses are set aside for various activities including maintenance. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Secondary school education required or equivalent experience. 
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to resolve routine issues are required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a maintenance area in all weather conditions, standing, walking and sitting for extended periods during a shift.
  • Valid Ontario class G Driver's Licence.
  • A driver’s license abstract acceptable to the City is required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts including days, afternoons and nights.
  • Must be willing and able to work overnight shifts between Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00 pm - 4:00 am and may include coverage for day shifts between Sunday - Thursday 4:00 pm - 12:00 am.
  • Working experience in a unionized environment is an asset.

Hourly Rate/Salary: $54,688.00 - $72,917.00
