Job Summary

Reporting to the Supervisor, Technical Services and under the direction of the Technical Coordinators, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with stage set ups, tear downs, maintenance of video equipment, and the operation of cameras or other specialized production equipment and devices.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Primary focus on Video Production including camera setup and operation.
  2. Demonstrates knowledge of show related paperwork related to the different.
  3. Demonstrated ability to operate video switchers.
  4. Complete understanding of signal flow and cable types. 
  5. Provides operation of production equipment in key positions during a show or festival.
  6. Provides expertise in set-up and tear down production activities
  7. Provides expertise in backstage safety for crew and clients
  8. Assists with the maintenance of production equipment and facilities where required.
  9. Performs general maintenance duties and inspections of all systems as required
  10. Read, understand and abide by all the City’s Divisional Standards, Corporate Policies and Procedures, including the Human Resources polices, Respectful Employee Conduct, Health and Safety, and Freedom of Information Act
  11. Performs other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary with a specialization in a specific technical area.
  • 1-3 years of experience in setup and operation of live video equipment.
  • Some design experience

Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 16.92 - $ 18.68 
Hours of Work: up to 40 
Work Location: Meadowvale Community Theatre
